Intework's Policies and Procedures form the guidelines that Intework follows. They are based on the Disability Services Standards set by the government, and which are provided at the back of this pack.

Intework's Policies and Procedures

Quality Statement:

This policy is about Intework's commitment to providing services which meet the clients' needs and expectations. It also talks about following the rules of the Disability Services Standards.
 

Occupational Safety and Health Statement:

This policy is about Intework providing a safe and healthy place for all clients, staff and volunteers.
 

Recruitment

This procedure talks about how Intework selects staff who have the right skills and values. It does not discriminate against anyone because of their age, sex, religion, culture or disability.
 

Staff Education and Development

This procedure talks about Intework's rules for making sure our staff are trained well to carry out their duties.
 

Continuous Improvement

This procedure is about how Intework identifies ways to keep improving everything we do.
 

Document Control and Records Management

This procedure describes the way in which Intework keeps its records.
 

Quality Coordinator's Guide

This procedure describes the way Intework looks after the quality of our services.
 

Internet and Email Use

This procedure makes sure that staff who use the computers and other office equipment obey all the laws and standards set by the government.
 

Expenditure Delegations

This procedure gives Intework guidelines about how it spends the funds given to Intework.
 

Lifeskills Client Registration and Exit

This procedure describes the process Intework follows for registering a client in the LifeSkills program and steps that are taken when the client leaves.  It states that Intework does not discriminate against any client because of their age, religion, sex, culture or disability.
 

Board and Management Code of Conduct

This procedure talks about the rules the people on the Board and Management Team must follow when carrying out their duties.
 

Privacy, Dignity and Confidentiality

This procedure talks about how Intework protects people's rights of privacy, dignity and confidentiality in line with the law and the Disability Services Standards.
 

Protection of Rights, Freedom from Abuse and Harassment

This procedure describes how Intework protects the rights of all its clients and staff and helps protect them from abuse.
 

Communication, Consultation and Client Complaints / Disputes

This procedure describes the way information is given to all staff and clients. It also gives guidelines on how Intework will handle complaints from clients.
 

Behavioural Intervention Program

This procedure describes how Intework staff manage clients with challenging behaviours.
 

Infectious Diseases

This procedure is about protecting the rights of Intework's clients and staff in regard to infectious diseases.
 

Infection Control

This procedure describes what Intework will do to help control infection.
 

Emergency Planning

This procedure talks about planning for any emergencies to make sure everyone is protected from accident, injury or illness as far as possible.
 

Accident, Incident and Injury Management Process

This procedure explains what Intework staff will do if there is an accident or injury.
 

Manual Handling

This procedure describes the things that need to be done to reduce the risk of accident or injury for people at Intework who lift something heavy.
 

Occupational Safety and Health Committee

This procedure explains the role of the Committee which is responsible for the safety and health of everyone at Intework.
 

Safety and Security

This procedure talks about how security systems are checked to make sure everyone at Intework is safe.
 

Forward Work Planning

This procedure talks about how Intework plans what it is going to do in the future.
