Disability Employment Network

The Disability EmDENLOGOployment Network (DEN) is dedicated to helping people with disabilities get ready to look for a job, find a job of their choice and keep a job in the general labour market.

Intework offers two Employment Programs, funded through the Federal government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR):

1. Capped: Clients requiring ongoing assistance

2. Uncapped: Clients should not require assistance after two years.

The DEN Program provides an individually focused service that is delivered by a case management/mentor approach enabling carefully matched staff to consider unique individually specific issues or barriers to employment and to develop appropriate strategies.

Intework prides itself on the partnerships it builds with both our service users and employers. These partnerships have not only strengthened current employment positions but have promoted many new employment opportunities for our Job Seekers.

Intework assists employers with matching the right person with the job, employment conditions and awards, re-designing duty statements (job carve), support and training, Work Place Modifications and Wage Subsidies.

Intework has been successful in placing jobseekers across many industries in full-time, part-time and casual positions. This success has been achieved through innovative employment solutions developed in discussion with our job seekers and individual businesses. We pride ourselves on a proactive approach and our ability to assist people to match careers and aspirations with an employer’s needs.

Intework’s ability to provide flexible services has seen many career development opportunities for our clients including traineeships, apprenticeships, qualified training and community training experiences. Career enhancement, promotions and workplace modification to increase independence in the work place are also strategies used extensively by Intework. Our holistic approach to services and a focus on people reaching their potential has seen clients transition from our supported employment environments (ADE) to open employment environments and then to independence using natural supports developed in the workplace rather than support from Intework staff.

The DEN program has been successful in assisting job seekers gain employment and also in establishing long term relationships with employers (as highlighted by tenure of employment figures with employers who have supported Intework – since our inception 19 years ago).
