Transport Coordinator

Working in a dedicated team your key tasks will be to schedule transport routes, leading and supporting paid and volunteer drivers, oversee and manage the administration of the system.

You will ideally have previous experience in transport coordination within a passenger environment, excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to liaise with clients, families and staff at a professional level.

The main responsibilities of  the role will include:

  • Maintaining clear communication lines with all Managers, Coordinators and families/carers;
  • Maintaining and updating all records which are required to meet accreditation standards, including driver records, information and training, client records;
  • Participating in Standards Assessments, and any other Quality Assurance Programs, that may be undertaken at any time; and
  • Attending Coordinator meetings with other Coordinators, and contributing to strategic planning for programs and the organisation as a whole when necessary.
  • The safe maintenance and operation of the Transport Fleet according to Queensland Transport Accreditation standards; and
  • The completion of administration tasks associated with the system including statistics, invoicing and maintenance of the client database, records and the Planner;

 

To be successful in the position you must have a minimum “C” Class current Western Australia Drivers Licence. You must also have a working knowledge of Disability Standards and the ability to apply them (or the ability to do so within 3 months of commencement) to the day-to-day operations of the transport system as well as the organisation’s policies and procedures.  A current (dated within last 3 months) National Police Clearance will be required prior to commencement of the position.

The successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to provide effective and supportive leadership in a teamwork situation, experience in maintaining administrative records in an effective and timely manner and experience effectively coordinating and evaluating services and providing effective feedback as to current systems. 

You will understand confidentiality as it relates to services delivery in the community services environment and will have demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining manual and electronic reporting systems. You must also have effective written and verbal communication skills.

In addition to the above you will ideally have an understanding of the special requirements of people who have a disability and their carers.

Essential

  1. Proven ability to support a team of staff and/or volunteers.
  2. Previous experience in undertaking administrative duties
  3. Ability to coordinate and schedule work and resources to provide an effective service.
  4. Experience working with people with disabilities
  5. Well developed communication skills, (both written and verbal ) and interpersonal skills
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Proven ability to use computer programs such as Word, spreadsheets, data bases
  8. Possession of a current class C Drivers Licence

 

Desirable

  1. Knowledge of Perth Metropolitan geographical area
